Close Up fulfills its mission through civic education programs for students, professional development for educators, and classroom resources that help students learn and practice the habits of active, effective citizenship, with an emphasis on how to articulate their own viewpoints and to listen with respect and tolerance to those of others. Partnership Highlight – U.S. Department of the Interior
Through our partnership with the U.S. Department of the Interior, Close Up is proud to provide civic education programs for students from the insular areas and freely associated states. Thanks to DOI support, Close Up has served over 10,000 students and teachers from American Samoa, Guam, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of Palau, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
