Travel beyond the capital to America’s birthplace.

Our Washington, DC and Philadelphia Middle School Trip Program helps students understand the significance of American democracy, from its early years to modern times. During this 5-day/4-night program, students consider how America’s revolutionary experiences shaped ideas about rights, democracy, and liberty. Guided by our highly-trained instructors, students have the opportunity to:

  • Discuss the historic events that have shaped our nation through visits to DC’s must-see sites;
  • Engage with peers to debate the most pressing issues facing our nation in an exciting, hands-on Mock Congress;
  • Experience the history of the Constitution and understand what it means today at the National Constitution Center;
  • Explore Independence Park and the birthplace of our nation;
  • Learn the origin of the Liberty Bell and how it became one of our country’s most iconic symbols; and,
  • Make lifelong friendships as they exchange ideas with students from around the country!

Participation in a Close Up program requires parent or guardian approval for any participants under 18 years of age.
