Close Up’s Washington, DC and Colonial Williamsburg Trip option gives students the best of both worlds: four action-packed days in the nation’s capital, plus one day in Colonial Williamsburg! In DC students get to witness democracy first-hand, and while in Colonial Williamsburg they examine how the colonists shaped American ideas about rights, democracy, and limited government. Guided by our highly-trained instructors, students have the opportunity to:
- Discuss the historic events that have shaped our nation through visits to DC’s must-see sites;
- Engage with peers to debate the most pressing issues facing our nation in an exciting, hands-on Mock Congress;
- Discover Virginia’s colonial history through a walking educational tour through Williamsburg;
- Sit in the pews of Bruton Parish Church where George Washington worshipped; and
- Dine in one of Williamsburg’s rustic taverns located in the heart of the Revolutionary City!
Participation in a Close Up program requires parent or guardian approval for any participants under 18 years of age.
