Start a Local Program in Your State!
Our middle school programs are designed to bring the democratic process alive for students by providing hands-on opportunities to examine the history and government of their state and deepen their understanding of how the three branches of government interact. Through these locally-based initiatives, Close Up helps school districts and organizations provide students with the skills needed to make a difference in their own communities.

Participation in a Close Up program requires parent or guardian approval for any participants under 18 years of age.
I’m truly blown away by what Close Up’s been able to accomplish in the last two weeks during IMPACT 2020…
The material seems very high level, and my daughter’s been very motivated to participate every day. I wanted to be sure to commend the staff on providing such a great experience!
I plan to introduce Close Up’s professional development to the teachers I work with…
and use this as a part of my school’s requirement that students take action on issues of local, national, and international importance.
Close Up is a positive experience for students…
seeing themselves as having the power to influence the democratic process.
I think Close Up’s virtual program is an amazing experience…
